Jason is one half of the duo the story follows. Rockstar's profile paints him as someone raised around small-time criminals who tried the Army as a way out and drifted back to what he knew: running errands for drug smugglers in the Keys.
He lives rent-free in a property owned by Brian Heder in exchange for help with local shakedowns, and his friend Cal Hampton is part of the same circle. Meeting Lucia is framed as the turning point of his story.
